So apparently I read the Nancy Drew series and the first Harry Potter book (independently!) in first grade. I cannot bring myself to imagine a first-grader of today reading novels. (Or multiplying & dividing four-digit numbers by abacus in second grade.) It’s just… mind-blowing. Every time I think of first-graders now, I think of iPads, thanks to the twenty-first century. =.=

Teacher: They're inside-out sheep! Look, you've got wooly stuff on the inside, and leather-like material on the outside. That's basically what an inside-out sheep would be. Imagine people walking around in a pair of inside-out sheep; the image is just too hilarious! I don't think anyone wears Uggs for purposes other than fashion. No one wears it ironically!

I only just realised that we could have unknowingly written our first “TOK” essays in seventh grade when the English teacher told us to answer “What is poetry?” in two pages. Except I didn’t use that approach. Because I didn’t know it.
